Ship Management & Operation Services
With over 629 ship years of experience managing ships of all sizes, classes, and complexities, MLL can operate virtually any specialized vessel required to transport and service offshore wind turbines. Ship Management Solutions
Our commercial ships are operational 99.5% of the time on an annual basis. We use proven maintenance strategies, innovative technologies and environmentally sound practices to improve cost-effectiveness, energy efficiency and performance for our customers’ marine assets. Even under the most extreme conditions and time constraints, we can repair vital shipboard equipment and systems worldwide.
Ship Modification
Currently available vessels may not satisfy unique requirements of offshore wind projects, and in this instance, converting an existing ship may prove to be the most cost-effective option. MLL has planned, engineered and managed ship building and conversion projects reliably and cost-effectively for over 28 years. Our experts have designed and handled all types of conversions from minor to complex modifications and multi-ship building programs.
Our Onshore Capabilities
Customizable Ocean Transportation
Our vast experience in the transportation of oversized cargoes can play a critical role in the handling and shipping of components ensuring risks are mitigated and budgets are met. With our global network, we have the capability to develop a transportation strategy that fits any specific needs. Our team can utilize ships from our own fleet or arrange to charter an appropriate vessel at the most competitive price. We have long–term and short-term chartering options available offering flexible voyages and arrangements anywhere in the world. Our specialized team can provide the technical expertise, flexible schedule, and safety standards to meet any need. We have the capability to ship all of the components of a wind turbine including blades, nacelles, rotors and towers.
Inland Transportation
Through A.P. Moller – Maersk’s global distribution network, we have the capacity and infrastructure to offer inland transportation. This service allows for smooth end-to-end transportation and alignment from the manufacturing plant to the wind energy installation site.
Project Logistics
MLL possesses the experience to provide full-service logistics solutions with customs documentation, U.S. flag fleet and project management expertise to deal with complex movements. With the largest U.S. flag fleet in commercial service we can also support the movement of U.S. Export-Import Bank funded wind energy projects to any location. We apply our knowledge of international trade and safety standards to ensure cargoes are delivered on time and within budget.
