MLL Receives ISO 50001 Certification by ABS
November 2012
MLL received ISO 50001 certification from the American Bureau of Shipping. The ABS certification, awarded on November 9, 2012 recognizes MLL as the first shipping company to be compliant with ISO 50001: 2011, Energy Management Systems. Implementing an energy management system supports reductions in energy costs, greenhouse gas emissions, and other environmental impacts.
Thirty-nine MLL Vessels Receive Environmental Achievement Award from CSA
November 2012
Thirty-nine vessels operated by MLL were awarded Certificates of Environmental Achievement from Chamber of Shipping of America. All vessels maintained at least a two-year period with no reportable spills, no U.S. Coast Guard citations for violations of MARPOL, no port state citations for violations of MARPOL, and no violations of state/local pollution regulations.
MLL Awarded Corporate Agency Marine Environment Protection Award
November 2012
The North American Marine Environment Protection Agency (NAMEPA) awarded MLL the Corporate Agency Marine Environment Protection Award during an event celebrating their fifth year anniversary. NAMEPA is a nongovernmental organization committed to preserving the marine environment. The award was given to MLL in recognition of its efforts to "Save the Sea", a NAMEPA goal that encourages the maritime industry to practice and promote the protection of the marine environment.
Twenty Eight Vessels Recognized at the Chamber of Shipping of America's Environmental Achievement Awards

Twenty eight vessels received an award from the Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA). To be eligible for an award, a vessel must meet the following criteria for at least a two-year period: no reportable spills, no U.S. Coast Guard citations for violations of MARPOL (the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships), no port state citations for violations of MARPOL, and no violations of state or local pollution regulations.
Fifteen MLL Vessels Receive Devlin Awards

Fifteen MLL ships have received the Devlin Award. The Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) announced the results of the 2010 Jones F. Devlin Awards for vessels that have operated for at least two years without a seafarer involved in a lost-time injury. These awards allow the U.S. maritime industry to publicly recognize those responsible for safe ship operations.
Eleven MLL Ships Receive Devlin Award for Safety Excellence

Eleven of MLL's vessels recently received Devlin Awards. These awards are given to vessels that have been Lost Time Incident (LTI)-free for two or more years. The USNS EFFECTIVE was among one of the MLL vessels awarded with eight years LTI free. The Drive to Zero continues to play a vital role in being LTI free.
Seventeen MLL Ships Receive Devlin Award for Safety Excellence

Several MLL vessels received the Devlin Award from the Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA). This award recognizes vessels which have achieved at least two years lost time accident (LTA)-free status through Dec. 31, 2008. CSA established the Jones F. Devlin Award in 1968, and more than 10,000 vessels across the country have received the award since the program began.
